Internship Program Increases Chances of Employment for Youth

Wood processing companies in Kosovo are amongst the main employers, especially for youth. As the sector grows, so does the demand for skilled workers, who, according to companies are hard to find.

Fetah Berisha from Pristina and Ibadete Sadiku from Vushtrri/Vućitrn have one thing in common: as soon as they complete the internship program with two wood processing companies, Dekoriti and Ciao Berto, they will be employed. The-three month internship program is an initiative of the Association of Wood Processors of Kosovo, supported by USAID EMPOWER Private Sector.  Through this program, nearly 40 individuals were placed with wood processing companies across Kosovo in production operations management, sales and business administration. At least 32 are expected to be employed.
