New Factory to Open with USAID Support

Palma, one of the major furniture sellers in Kosovo, is taking up a new challenge replacing imported furniture with its own production.  The company has already begun setting up a new production line of kitchens and bedrooms. The products will be sold in Kosovo and Switzerland, where Palma already has a showroom, with a goal to expanding later to other markets. Palma recevied a grant from USAID EMPOWER Private Sector in order to finalize the packaging department. This assistance is expected to create at least 50 new jobs.

“As the project is nearing its completion, we were in need of financial support to be able to acquire and install full production lines for the factory,” says Ekrem Shahini, owner of Palma.
