Convention of the Wood Industry - V Edition

The fifth edition of the student design competition welcomes students in the fields of architecture, interior design, integrated design and wood technology registered in Kosovo to exercise their creativity and come up with an idea project for ways to new woodworking. The student design competition is organized within the framework of the Convention of the Wood industry which is held on December 8, 2022 at the Emerald Hotel.

Përmes këtij aktiviteti financuar nga USAID EMPOWER Sektori Privat, SHPDK synon ta publikojë një ‘forum të politikave’, një takim në mes të biznesve (B2B), strategji dhe punëtori të marketingut, panair, konkurs për dizajn të produktit dhe t’i bashkojë njerëzit për t’iu treguar kapacitetet e Kosovës në sektorin e përpunimit të drurit dhe të avokojë për më shumë përmirësim të mjedisit afarist.

The competition aims to bring innovative designs to life in the wood industry for large-scale industrial production for public use.

What we expect from applicants:

Applicants are asked to come up with feasible proposals that can range from everyday furniture to miniature objects for everyday use.

Prizes: First place 500 EUR | Second place 300 EUR | Third place 200 EUR and public prize of 300 EUR

All other finalists will be awarded certificates of participation and their designs will be published in the official student design competition catalog.

Projects will be evaluated based on the following evaluation form where:

Innovation is worth 50% and

Design is worth 30%

The market launch opportunity is worth 20%

Application Criteria

Candidates interested in the Student Design Competition should complete and submit the application below.

Along with their application form, candidates must submit:

One or more perspective 3D images (Render) or high-resolution axonometry with minimum dimensions of 1920x1080 pixels saved as a JPEG file, where the background is preferably white.

4 raised levels (elevations) with transparent background including approximate dimensions. Each raised level should be presented on a separate A4 page in this order: Front, Back, Right Side, and Left Side, saved as a single PDF file. The resolution of raised levels must be at least 300 dpi.

Optional: Exploded axonometer showing the construction and the way of realization.

Rule

Participation is on an individual basis and students are allowed to submit only one paper

The design must be the original work of the student, who will be recognized as the sole designer throughout the duration of the competition.

Entrants retain copyright of designs. SHPDK reserves the right to publish projects as needed.

Participants undertake to accept these rules.

Participants will be disqualified if any of the competition rules are not followed
